Assam Budlabeta is a premium black tea from the Assam region of India, with the highest grade of SFTGFOP1. Grown on the famous Budlabeta tea plantation, located in the humid subtropical climate of the Brahmaputra Valley, this tea is renowned for its powerful, rich flavour, deep infusion colour and distinctive malty aroma.

The taste is rich, with notes of malt, wood and a slight tartness. The aroma is deep, warm, with caramel-earthy notes. The infusion is dark amber, thick.

Origin of Assam teas

Assam is one of the most famous tea regions in India. The first tea bushes were discovered here in the 19th century. After the British lost their monopoly on Chinese tea, Assam became a key supplier of black tea to Europe. Assam varieties are characterized by a high theine content, rich flavor and thick infusion, which makes them ideal for breakfasts and traditional tea with milk.
